Go Narrative is a strategic narrative consultancy in Seattle. Matthew Woodget started it in 2017. New clients can buy one thing from us: the Narrative Accelerator. In four weeks, you set the standard your team builds to: what you mean, drawn out and hardened into one page. We don’t write your messaging, your deck or your website. We build the layer they sit on. Everything below the first section is for clients who have already been through it.

Start here: the Narrative Accelerator
Four weeks. We draw out the beliefs and tradeoffs already in your head and write them down as a narrative spine: one page your company runs on. Not pitch coaching, not copywriting.
You set it once. Sales, hiring, and product build to it, on calls you never have to join.
-

After the spine is locked: someone at the end of the phone.
For clients who have been through the Accelerator. Weekly sessions against the locked spine: the board deck, the funding announcement, the hire you’re about to make. Month to month, so it scales with your cycle. We call it the Founder Story Pit Crew. Existing clients only.
-

Then your team learns to give the pitch the way you would.
Once the spine is locked, half-day and full-day workshops put your team through it on real deals and real hires, not hypotheticals. A shorter version onboards new people so they sound like the company in weeks. Existing clients only.
Questions founders & CEOs ask before they book
-
We draw out what you mean and harden it into one page of beliefs and tradeoffs. That page is your narrative spine. You set the standard. Sales, hiring and product build to it, on calls you never have to join. Not better marketing. The original, drawn out and hardened.
-
Positioning and messaging are downstream. They’re worth doing well, and they’re separate engagements. Positioning tells your team what you sell and how you win. The narrative tells them why. Without the why, the how and the what don’t hold. That’s the part we draw out and harden. I’ve built plenty of messaging decks. I watched them not get used, because the decision logic under the words never traveled with them.
-
Founders and CEOs who are still the only person who can explain the company. Work goes out and comes back close, technically right, and not what you meant, so you fix it yourself. Again. If your VP of Sales still asks you to join the important calls, it’s probably you.
-
Four weeks, four working sessions. In week one we hear from up to eight of your people through assessments and one-to-one interviews. Up to two truth-holders with decision authority, like a co-founder or your go-to-market lead, sit beside you where the tradeoffs get decided. Nobody votes on the wording. Each of the four truths is locked with a falsifier, one line on what we'd have to see to know it was wrong. Then you roll it out to your team. We don't. That's the part that makes it hold.
-
Narrative Accelerator engagements start at $42,000. Fees are fixed, not hourly. Half is due on signing and half at the start of week two.

Try it. Ask each one for your company’s story, then ask again in a fresh chat. Now you have four versions. Handing it your mission and vision won’t fix that. Those say where you’re going. Positioning says what you sell and how you win. None of it says why, and you can’t reverse-engineer the why from the what and the how. The model will try anyway. Every answer sounds almost right, so you keep going. Seventy-two hours later you’re back where you were when you tried to write it yourself, with more notes and a more confused team. The missing piece is the constraints: who you’re not for, what you’ll give up, which of two good options wins. Those only hold once someone who has done this has pushed on them and won’t let the hard one slide. I know because I’ve done it. In August, without my own guardrails in the chat, an AI session put seven of my documents back to language I’d already retired. It sounded right, and I missed it for three days. Once the original exists, AI is the fastest way to hold the line. Before that, it’s the fastest way to multiply copies.

Plenty of founders do, and for a while it works. It takes about six months for a Chief of Staff to learn how you think well enough to act for you. By month twelve to fifteen, nobody’s sure whether they speak for you or for themselves. At around two years they leave, and the original leaves with them. The first year runs $300,000 or more. The Accelerator is $42,000 once, and the spine stays when people go.

Book a 20-minute Narrative Diagnostic. You walk us through how you explain the company. We tell you the one place it breaks, what that’s costing you now, and whether we’re a fit.
