LanceDB: your proof is making a bigger claim than your promise.
https://www.lancedb.com/ · page read 17 September 2026
What the page leads with
The page opens and closes on the same promise, made to the same buyer: a team building a training dataset. That is a committed position, and it holds from the first screen to the last.
What I found
Between those two lines sits the proof. The heading is "Trusted In Production By" and it carries five named customer quotes. Three of them describe what LanceDB does once the model is already live.
The other two, Kamil Sindi at Runway and Keunhong Park under the World Labs mark, speak to training and iteration. So the split inside your strongest asset is three to two, and the majority is talking about retrieval in production.
The same pattern shows up a second time, in the numbers. Your stat block leads with "100B+ Rows in a single table." The word "trillion" appears once on the entire page, in the fourth of four tabs: "All your data in one place. Searchable at trillion row scale." Counted on the live page, 17 September 2026.
The diagnosis
The page commits at the top, and the material underneath has not caught up with the commitment. A reader is told this is for model training, then meets five customers under a heading about production, three of whom describe serving live traffic. The page never ties those quotes back to the promise it opened with, and the closing line repeats the narrower promise past its own evidence. Each piece is true. They are pointing in two directions, and the evidence points wider.
Why it matters
A retrieval buyer reads the hero, concludes the product is built for a training team, and leaves before reaching the quotes. The customers who bought the wider thing are two screens down, saying so in their own words, under a heading the page never connects back to the claim it made. You have already earned proof for a bigger claim than the one your homepage is making.
